Our plant’s complete process flow ensures the continued quality of our products: starting with design development through to slitting and packing, together with continuous monitoring of processes at every stage.

All raw materials arriving at our plant undergo strict quality control testing before going in to production. Our accredited laboratory engineers test according to the intended purpose of the raw materials:

  • Film Thickness

    Film Thickness

    Film thickness affects properties such as transparency, strength and elasticity. As a rule, when thickness increases, strength also increases but transparency and elasticity are compromised.

    Monitoring variations in film thickness prevents reels from overstraining and overstretching parts of the film. A mechanical micrometer is used to measure thickness.

  • Specific Weight

    Specific Weight

    The specific weight of a film (or weight per square metre) dictates material consumption as well as production of labels, packaging and other materials.

    Specific weight depends on material density, coatings and also film thickness.

  • Strength

    Strength

    The strength and elasticity of film materials determine the strength performance of the end product. Having tested our films for tensile strength and breaking elongation, Danaflex ensures compliance with requirements on strength characteristics in accordance with GOST 14236 and ASTM 882 standards. These measurements are made with the multipurpose Zwick Roell machine.

  • Sealing Ability

    Sealing Ability

    Sealing is one of the main methods for bonding thermoplastics and this is precisely why sealability is a crucial feature of our packaging materials. In our laboratory, we test films with the HSG-C sealing machine. Each material is exposed to this check under specific temperature, time and pressure conditions. The strength of welded seals is measured in a similar fashion to tensile strength according to the GOST 14236 and ASTM 882 standards.

  • Friction

    Friction

    The static friction coefficient is a key parameter, determining the efficiency of film conversion on high-speed lines and its wider performance characteristics. We evaluate friction coefficient against the GOST 11629 standard using an FP-2250 testing machine equipped with a smooth horizontal table and a moveable carriage.

  • Wettability

    Wettability

    The ability of the film to maintain contact with liquids and colloidal systems are central to the behavior of the material. If wetting is good the liquid spreads evenly across the surface of the film but, if not, water droplets will ball together. Film wetting tension is measures according to ASTM D 2578-09 and helps to assess the suitability of the film to different printing methods.

  • Light Transmission

    Light Transmission

    We produce films of very high transparency which is evaluate via a light transmission coefficient according to the GOST 15875 standard and using a Haze-gard analyzer.

    Light diffusion is defined by the ability of a film to scatter the light going through it. Transparency is the physical property of allowing light to pass through the material without being deflected from the original direction.

  • Тhermal Shrinkage

    Тhermal Shrinkage

    We use a UT — 4020 oil bath to determine the linear and longitudinal shrinkage of polymer film exposed to over-heating.

    This heating device makes for high efficiency together with safe heating and thermal regulation thanks to its design and technical characteristics. The inner container of the oil bath is made of polished stainless steel — a durable, non-corrosive and chemical resistant material.
